Very Special Winter Rental Situation. This is my personal home, located in the stunningly beautiful Hidden Valley, about a mile past Turtle Lake, surrounded by amazingly beautiful red and orange sandstone formations. 300 yards to a beautiful public lands meadow that goes for 2 miles to the north. Spectacular views and great cross country skiing (depending on the winter snows) right out the door. It is my intention to spend the winter in Mexico as I do every year. I am renting the home without the use of the master suite, which will be locked off. However, there is a second, very nice bedroom and bath, as well as a guestroom/den. If, for some reason of family or health, I would need to return from Mexico early, I would reserve the right to move back in (so it would become a roommate situation). The price I am offering the home for reflects that remote possibility. The home is nicely and comfortably furnished, but it is not over-the top style that could keep you nervous. The views are some of the best in Durango. It is a friendly neighborhood of 2 to 4 acre parcels. There is an enclosed courtyard with a nice gas BBQ. In-floor heat. The Mexican style kitchen has a gas stove and oven, dishwasher, compactor and big, beautiful fridge. Washer and Dryer. Piano (which hasn't been tuned in many yeary). Gas fireplace. So, I am looking for very responsible renters (2 people max), with excellent credit and rental references. Renters must be able to manage snow blowing/shoveling. There will be a good, big snowblower provided. The security deposit is $3,000. I will continue to pay the gas and electric bills through this lease, which you will reimburse to me as bills come in. Combined gas and electric can be high in the winter - probably around $350-375/month range averaged over the 5 month period. Of course that can vary based on how you use the utilities. There is a large 2 car garage. Internet and basic Direct TV service are included. My artwork and decorating items will remain, but personal photos and memorabilia will be stored. Available approximately November 6. Lease will run through April 5, 2024. I would not anticipate and option to extent that. I will consider one dog or one cat, but will require a professional deep-clean (my cleaners) at the end of the lease.
