This Eco-friendly Home is right on the Yampa River. It's a custom strawbale home built by myself. Each wall was shaped and hand plastered with love and attention. Window sill inlays, rounded niches, concrete countertops and bright tiles make this home more unique and special than most. This home is private and quiet, located 3 miles to the ski area and 1/2 mile to town. A pleasurable experience is awaiting you ! This Strawbale Home offers a warm and cozy stay for the sustainable conscious. Arched doorways and beautifully plastered walls beg to be touched. Deep and curved window sills have custom tile inlays and sweet details to be discovered. Heated Saltillo tiles welcome your feet along with wool carpeting in both bedrooms. Two spacious bedrooms have queen beds, closets, bedside tables as well as full bureaus. There is wonderful lighting throughout the whole house. Bathroom has a large soaking tub as well as dual shower heads at each end. A custom concrete top lays atop a vintage vanity. Stand at kitchen door, look up & get your own morning report on the ski mtn and all the fresh POW POW for the day ! Kitchen has custom concrete counters as well. Kitchen Bar with stools makes for easy hanging and visiting while dinner is being created. Again, great lighting with up/down shades for adjusting and framing views. Open kitchen and living room with dining table, bench, chairs and again, stunning views of mountains or river along with plenty of blue skies in all directions! Living room has chairs and deep long leather couch, big favorite of all guests. Streaming roku tv's in all 3 rooms. There is a shared foyer with warm closet for shedding your outdoor gear, hanging jackets, gloves, boots and shoes. The entire closet provides room for clothes as well as ski equipment. You have a completely secure and separate space which is the entire first floor of house. There is ample parking in front along with a covered carport which is available for guests. This house is tucked back by itself, distanced from the street and neighbors making this a safe and secure place. A recent remodel added extra sound proofing between floors. Guest access Your space is the entire main floor of the house, and the outside areas, which include free parking, large turn around, as well as covered carport. There is a gas grill for your use out the back door. Other things to note The heat source is radiant floor heat. Strawbale construction (all exterior walls) have an R factor of about a billion (actually 40-45 ) so the dwelling is cool in summer and warm in winter. Trash and recycle service provided.
