Different Housing Programs Administered by the Saugus Housing Authority Conventional and Rental Assistance Housing Programs Under the Saugus Housing Authority's administration, various housing programs are provided for the elderly and families. These programs can be categorized into Conventional housing programs and Rental Assistance housing programs. Conventional Housing Programs Conventional housing programs are those where the Authority owns and manages the property. The Saugus Housing Authority currently offers four State-funded Conventional housing complexes: 1. Laurel Gardens (Elderly) 2. Laurel Towers (Elderly) 3. Sweetser Corner (Elderly) 4. Armitage Arms (Family) Eligibility Requirements for State-Funded Housing for Seniors To be eligible for State-funded housing for seniors, applicants must fulfill the following criteria at the time of application: - Age: 60 years or older - Disability and/or handicap Federally-Funded Housing Programs Federally-funded housing programs are those where the property is owned by a private landlord and the Authority assists with the rent payment to the landlord.
